What to Expect

The Trinatal Yoga School 85-hour training is designed for yoga teachers who want to deepen their knowledge, expand their confidence, and learn how to safely and skillfully support pregnant and postpartum students. Whether you’ve taught for years or are stepping into your teaching voice, this training gives you the structure, science, and mentorship to elevate your offerings.

You’ll gain practical, real-world experience through teaching labs, hands-on guidance, and access to seasoned prenatal yoga professionals. Our hybrid model blends flexibility with connection, allowing you to learn at your own pace while still engaging in community-based learning.

Most importantly, you’ll graduate with the confidence and skill set to offer inclusive, compassionate, and evidence-based classes that meet the needs of every body and every trimester.

    Alicia Poldino

    ERYT 500, RPYT, Founder of Trinatal Yoga School and Utah Prenatal Yoga

    Alicia will be your lead trainer, bringing more than 10 years of experience teaching (and training teachers!) in prenatal & postnatal yoga and running a successful yoga studio. You can learn more about Alicia here.

    Susan McLaughlin

    MPT, Pelvic Health Specialist

    Susan will guide us through the basics of anatomy of the breath and core and how the nervous system is related to alignment, function and overall health during the birth years. Susan has been a practicing Physical Therapist for over 20 years and brings her unique and holistic approach to the training. You can learn more about Susan here.

    Dr. Amber Brown

    PT, DPT, WCS, CLT, RYT-200

    Amber will guide us through a deeper exploration of pelvic floor and core anatomy as it relates to the birthing body. In addition to her Physical Therapy practice, Dr. Brown is also a yoga teacher and birth doula. You can learn more about Amber here.

    Leana Marie Marshall

    Leana will guide us into a deeper conversation about Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in the yoga practice. Leana is also a birth doula and has created a powerful voice for social justice in yoga spaces. You can learn more about Leana here.

    Lindsay Dougal

    CYT/CPYT, Full-Spectrum Doula

    Lindsay will guide us into a deeper understanding of how to hold space for students that have experienced loss (PAIL and PAL). She is also a bereavement doula and certified prenatal and postnatal yoga teacher. You can learn more about Lindsay here.

Postnatal Yoga Teacher Training is currently offered as part of the Prenatal Yoga Training Cohort

The Postnatal Yoga Teacher Training is designed for teachers who want to confidently support new parents during the postpartum period. You’ll learn modifications for varying levels of postpartum healing, how to monitor Diastasis Recti, improve pelvic floor function, and create safe, effective postnatal-specific classes.

This module qualifies for 18 Yoga Alliance CEUs (in addition to RPYT hours) and is approved for SMS elective hours in Anusara (ASHY) advanced teacher training (500 hr). Prenatal Yoga Certification is required, and postnatal training is offered as part of the full prenatal/postnatal module.

Course Content & Topics

  • A comprehensive look at pregnancy, birth, and postpartum anatomy to help you deeply understand the mind–body changes your students experience.

  • Learn alignment principles designed specifically for pregnant and postpartum bodies, plus how to cue supportive, safe foundations.

  • Go beyond memorizing lists; learn exactly when, how, and why to adjust any pose for any body.

  • Understand the “why” behind each contraindication so you can confidently guide students with clarity and nuance.

  • Study the most current, evidence-based pelvic floor and core teachings from leading PT and pelvic health professionals.

  • Develop the skills to support the wide range of emotions and experiences your students bring into the room.

  • Create safe, meaningful class sequences for all trimesters and postnatal recovery, plus build strong language and theming skills.

  • Learn a proven, sustainable approach to marketing your offerings in a way that consistently brings in new students.

  • Build simple systems that keep students coming back; far beyond what social media alone can accomplish.

  • Get practical tools for personal branding, messaging, and running a financially sustainable, values-aligned teaching business.

  • Explore yogic principles and how to apply them authentically in modern prenatal and postnatal teaching.

  • Learn how to build a supportive professional network that uplifts both your teaching and your community.

  • Develop essential skills in diversity, equity, and inclusion to create safer, more mindful spaces for every body.

  • Study the 8 limbs and core philosophical teachings, and learn how they shape and deepen prenatal/postnatal yoga.

  • Practical teaching experience. You will actually teach. Not just theory, not just templates—real teaching with real-time feedback in a supportive, connected community.

Our training includes self-paced coursework and live group sessions with asana practice, teaching labs, observations, and essential prenatal/postnatal topics. You’ll graduate ready to teach with confidence.

All live sessions may be attended virtually, and the program is approved under the Yoga Alliance Online Teacher Training Provision. Attendance at all live sessions is required.
